Description
Gurbax Singh Kartar Singh Aristocrate, established in 1920, is a historic family-run shop situated in the traditional lanes of New Mishri Bazar near the holy Golden Temple. For more than a century, the shop has remained connected to the authentic food traditions of Punjab, becoming known for its handmade Papar Warian and Sevian prepared with care, purity, and dedication.
What began as a small traditional business started by the family elders gradually earned the trust of local families, travelers, and devotees visiting Amritsar. Through changing times and generations, the family continued to follow the same values of honesty, hard work, and quality that shaped the foundation of the shop many decades ago.
Today, the legacy is carried forward by S. Manjit Singh and S. Bhupinder Singh, along with the fourth generation represented by S. Angadbir Singh. Their experience and commitment help preserve the original methods and flavors that have been part of the family tradition for generations.
The Sevian are prepared using traditional techniques that give them their natural taste and fine texture, making them suitable for festive meals, religious occasions, and traditional Punjabi dishes. The Papar Warian are made from carefully selected ingredients and spices, then naturally dried to maintain their authentic flavor and freshness.
Every product reflects patience, craftsmanship, and respect for Punjabi culinary heritage. Cleanliness, consistency, and customer satisfaction remain an important part of the family’s working values, ensuring that each batch meets the standards built over generations.
More than a business, Gurbax Singh Kartar Singh Aristocrate represents a continuing journey of tradition and trust. Even after more than 100 years, the shop proudly carries forward the flavors and cultural heritage of old Amritsar, serving generations with the same dedication that began in 1920.
